Children at Women Who Rock April 25th

Hello!

My name is Alex Zepeda, I am a junior studying Early Childhood and Family studies, and am currently enrolled in Michelle Habell-Pallan’s Latina Culture class at the University of Washington. As a part of the class I am doing an individual project and if possible I would like to enlist a little help from those attending Women Who Rock on April 25th.

While researching for my project I found that there is not a lot of information or literature about children’s Altars or Altar making which led me to develop this finding into the focus of my project. I would like to learn about and research the experience of making and having an Altar from the perspective of children, specifically at Women Who Rock and hope to turn this wonderful information into a short video presentation or children’s book. During the Altar and Sugar Skull workshop, from 3-5:30, I will be at a smaller table for the kids attending to see first hand what they experience as well as discuss their own feelings and opinions of the project.

I would just like to say to everyone who has children coming to the conference that I would absolutely love it if you came and dropped by!

Thank you so much and I look forward to meeting and speaking to you all this Friday!
